A five minute stroll leads to the shops and pub serving food in the small village of Westgate and the market town of Stanhope (6 miles) also boasts the Dales Centre cafes and shops. The historic city of Durham Beamish living history Museum Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District are all under an hour's drive.
